OUR BUSINESSES
One of the most important aspects of OAW’s vision is to sustain the businesses we launch to profitability. Most small businesses fail early on because they don’t have the capital to sustain themselves. Thus, we are committed to generate and invest capital into these businesses until they can fly on their own. In return, OAW businesses that succeed will re-invest a percentage of their net profits back into OAW for launching and sustaining more businesses. We say, let a thousand businesses bloom.
OAW FOOD TRUCK
Soul on a Roll is OAW's food truck business, which celebrated its launch on September 17, 2021. The Oakland A's made a significant contribution to the launch of Soul on a Roll. Look for our truck on the streets of Oakland in the summer of 2022.
WEST OAKLAND FARMS
West Oakland Farms, launched in 2015, and was OAW's first business. West Oakland Farms was co-owned by a small group of formerly incarcerated people and OAW. Crops on the farm were produced through organically sustainable growing methods, and were sold to local grocers and restaurants. West Oakland Farms will return once OAW's first housing development, The Black Panther is completed. West Oakland Farms will once again be selling crops produced through organically grown methods to the community.
